Into the Wild Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
There are several facets to this book; investigating McCandless's life and trying to find reasons for his actions, relating the stories of other adventurous young men who have tempted fate (including the author), and the simple mystery of what actually happened to McCandless. The part I found the most interesting was just reading about his exploits as he wandered around the American West with no apparent income or direction. It's pretty foreign to me that a person can set out with little or no money, no support system, and no plan, and survive that way for so long. A pretty gripping story. Now I'll need the movie.
